The cultural shift to remote work led a network engineering team to an insight of their own: most routers were ill-equipped to manage VPN and IoT with efficacy, let alone serve their internal teams with a standard of quality they expect. So they decided to build a better router, employing network knowledge they’ve gained from authoring 50+ U.S. patents.

We came in early in the process, developed the router name, Island, and positioned the experience as an “internet paradise,” a tool to put a safety net between your home and the internet. All design and communication has followed this lead; the product launched in 2023, receiving a Red Dot Award for Industrial Design. Island has since been named to CE Pro’s Best Routers for 2023 list and it continues to expand within the home integration and consumer markets.
